Permanent Music EP

South African DJ, producer and Gqom pioneer Dlala Thukzin introduced his Permanent Music EP on October 30, 2020. Released through Dlala Records, the project contains six tracks with a total runtime of approximately 37 minutes. Apple Music classifies the release under the Dance genre.

The EP represents an important point in Dlala Thukzin’s career because Permanent Music became the first release in a series that would later include Permanent Music 2 in 2021 and Permanent Music 3 in 2023.

The project features several respected names from South Africa’s dance music scene, including DJ Tira, Joocy, MK Productions, Worst Behaviour, GoldMax, Iso and Kususa. Across the six songs, Dlala Thukzin explores Gqom, Afro-electronic and dance sounds while maintaining the energetic production style that has become associated with his music.
