Imvula Mlomo Album

South African singer and songwriter Aubrey Qwana released his acclaimed project Imvula Mlomo on July 31, 2020. The nine-track project is officially categorized as Afro-Pop and has a total runtime of approximately 33 minutes. It was released through Sony Music Entertainment Africa under an exclusive licence from The T Effect.

Imvula Mlomo is an important project in Aubrey Qwana’s career because it introduced listeners to his distinctive musical identity, storytelling ability and cultural influences. The project combines elements associated with Afro-pop, mbaqanga, maskandi, hip-hop and R&B, while focusing heavily on personal experiences, relationships, family and everyday life.

The project contains only one guest appearance, with South African rapper Emtee appearing on “Ngakwenzani.” The remaining eight tracks are led by Aubrey Qwana, allowing his voice and storytelling to remain at the center of the project.
