Umkhulu Album

South African heavyweight rapper Big Zulu returned in 2026 with Umkhulu, a 12-track studio album that continues his journey of combining powerful Zulu storytelling with contemporary African sounds.

Released on 1 May 2026 through Inkabi Records, Umkhulu runs for approximately 58 minutes and features collaborations with several prominent South African artists, including Boohle, Mawelele, Inkabi Nation, Cassper Nyovest, Siphiwe Black, Mnqobi Yazo, Zakwe, Maraza and Maseven. Apple Music classifies the project as Afro-Pop, while other music platforms place it within broader African, Hip-Hop and Afro-fusion categories.

The album represents another major chapter in Big Zulu’s discography and follows projects such as Ushun Wenkabi, Ungqongqoshe Wongqongqoshe, Ichwane Lenyoka, Ngises’Congweni and Icala Le Mpumelelo.
