Umsebenzi (Gold Deluxe) Album

South African singer, songwriter and rapper Sjava expanded his acclaimed Umsebenzi project with the Umsebenzi (Gold Deluxe) edition. The release brings together nine songs that showcase Sjava’s distinctive blend of soulful melodies, African musical influences, hip-hop elements and deeply personal Zulu storytelling.

Originally released as a four-track EP on December 4, 2020, Umsebenzi was subsequently expanded into the Gold Deluxe edition. The Gold Deluxe release is associated with 1020 Cartel and contains nine tracks with a total runtime of approximately 36 minutes and 32 seconds.

The project includes notable collaborations with Ami Faku on “Balele” and Ndabo Zulu on “Ushevu,” while the remaining songs primarily focus on Sjava’s solo performances.
